Not 100%
Brazil manager Tite has claimed Neymar is far from 100% fit, but that he will be playing during the World Cup.
The star of the national side seems to get unlucky when it comes to the World Cup and injuries, and of course suffered with his back when the Brazilian’s were hosting the last tournament – and had to go off injured and miss the remainder of the World Cup, where his side crashed out, losing 7-1 to Germany.
Now, it seems that while Brazil will not be without Neymar, they will have to rely on their other players as well, with Tite noting that Neymar will not be able to go flat out, yet he is ready to help the side and have a good tournament.
“Neymar is not 100 percent but he is privileged physically, his sprinting is impressive but still he is not going full out,” Marca report Tite said.
“He is better than we were expecting and ready to have a great World Cup.
“I don’t feel like he is the leader, our strength is in the bond between everyone.
“I know that there are a lot of people that like him and many that don’t like him.”
Favourites
The one thing he did go out of his way to emphasise was that Brazil aren’t just one man – something they did fall victim to believing back in 2014, yet this time out Tite says there are many players in the squad who not only have quality on the ball, but who are leaders and who help the team on and off the field.
Ronaldo on his 2002 #WorldCup hair: “I had an injury in my leg and everybody was talking about that and forgot about the injury. I could stay more calm, relaxed and focused on my training.”

There is a huge competition for places in the squad, and Roberto Firmino will probably be a second choice option, with Gabriel Jesus starting, and with strength like that, it’s little wonder Tite has claimed his side will be one of the favourites to win – and intend to honour that label.
He added: “What is important is that in the national team there is a group with different characteristics and everyone does their bit.
“We are a strong, competitive side, with a defined style of play, tactically strong and candidates to win the World Cup.”
